Kandy incident: President instructs to launch an impartial investigation

COLOMBO (News 1^st) - President Maithripala Sirisena has instructed the police and security forces to launch an impartial and independent investigation into the incidents that had taken place in Digana, Kandy earlier today (March 5). Further, the Head of State has instructed the Army and Police to implement a special program to ensure the security of all people in the area. The President has instructed security forces to act in a responsible manner to prevent any situation that could arise and to take all steps to ensure law and order in the area. Police curfew has been imposed in the Kandy administrative district with immediate effect. The curfew will be in place until 6 am tomorrow.
