UNP Member of Parliament Ravi Karunanayake shared his views with the media following an event held in Colombo North today (March 4).
Raising questions the media inquired about the no-confidence motion against the prime minister, Ranil Wickremesinghe.
Responding to the question Ravi Karunanayake stated that the UNP needs to travel on the correct path and understand the pulse of the people.
Further, he stated that they need to create radical change. Accordingly, he said that the time is up for people who have been pushed into potions from above.
Q: 'The people who worked hard while the UNP was in the opposition are now sidelined, Why did such a situation occur?'
In response to this, MP Karunanayake stated that the 'elephants who work are not the same elephants that take part in the perahera.'
MP Karunanyake stated that it can clearly be seen and that they will change it before long and get the party back to it's winning ways.
" We also need to improve the economy. If we resolve the economic issue it will clear a lot of other problems. Take the IMF we should listen to what they say not do everything that they tell us to do." - MP Ravi Karunanyake
Further, he stated that at this moment they do not need to do everything that the IMF tells them and that the IMF has played its role and now can leave the country.

Question: On the cabinet reshuffle, the people are saying that this isn't a successful reshuffle.
Answer: Problems won't go away just because you change the heads. I believe that before long everything will be rectified.
