CMC Commissioner V. K. A. Anura removed from his position

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Commissioner of the Colombo Municipal Council, V.K.A. Anura was removed from his position by Governor of the Western Province, K. Sri Logeshwaran. The decision was made following the recommendations of the one-man presidential committee that was appointed to look into the Meethotamulla tragedy. The report compiled by Retired Court of Appeal Judge, Dr. Chandradasa Nanayakkara regarding the tragedy, was handed over to President Maithripala Sirisena on February 6.
