Election Commission Chairman meets Speaker

COLOMBO (News1st) - A special meeting was held between the Chairman of the Election Commission Mahinda Deshapriya and Speaker Karu Jayasuriya. During the meeting, Mahinda Deshapriya had explained the problems that led to delays when issuing the results of the local government polls. He pointed out to the Speaker that there were practical problems in ensuring the quota of 25% women's representation. The Speaker had requested Mahinda Deshapriya to study the possibility of  adopting electronic means for future elections.
