Colombo High Court Judge Gihan Kulatunga ordered that the case filed by the Attorney General against Former Minister Basil Rajapaksa and Former Director General of the Divineguma Development Department Kithsiri Ranawaka, be postponed until March 13.

The case is filed under the charge of misappropriating Rs.29.4 million of funds belonging to the Divineguma Development Department to print and distribute five million Lith documents with the image of former president Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The senior state counsel pointed out that the Court of Appeal had issued an order barring the case being taken up before High Court Justice Gihan Kulatunga until February 02,

The case was postponed, taking this fact into consideration ,

Furthermore, a warrant was issued for the arrest of former MP Sarana Gunawardena by Colombo Additional Magistrate, Thanuja Jayatunge.

The warrant was issued as the Former MP failed to appear for the case filed by the Bribey Commission. The case pertains to the lease of vehicles without following due tender procedure. This is alleged to have taken place when he was serving as the Chairman of the Development Lotteries Board.
