Residents of Polpitigama’s Othanae Village say say they have been affected by a bask of crocodiles in the village’s Othanae Wewa.
The residents of the Othane village use the Othanae Wewa to meet their daily water requirements. A woman who was bathing in the wewa had an encounter with a crocodile yesterday, January 11, and is currently receiving treatment at the Kurunegala Hospital .
Wildlife officials took steps last evening to set up a trap to catch the crocodile in question. However, the crocodile is yet to be caught. Our camera captured the manner in which three crocodiles were roaming the area around the trap.
