National Hospital nurses join hands with union over “fingerprint system” strike

Nurses attached to the Colombo National Hospital and Eye Hospital have decided to carry out a trade union action by taking sick leave today. This move is in support of the strike action launched by the Nurses’ Union of the Sri Jayawardenapura National Hospital.

The Nurses Union attached to the Sri Jayawardenapura National Hospital launched the strike action nine days ago over the introduction of a Fingerprint Attendance System.Activities at the hospital have come to a complete standstill while over 100 surgeries conducted on a daily basis have been postponed.
