Coastal railway movement has been obstructed due to a container that had jammed across the Matara – Weligama railway crossing.

According to the Railway Control Room, the container jammed early today, December 30.

The Matara Railway Control Room further noted that all trains starting from the Matara Railway station could be delayed.

Meanwhile, an official stated that steps were being taken to remove the container that is obstructing the railway crossing.
