A total of 688,852 candidates are eligible to sit for the examination this year, at 5,116 examination centres countrywide.The examinations will continue until December 21, the Department of Examinations confirmed.
The Commissioner General of Examinations requests the candidates to be present at their respective centres by 8:00 a.m.
Furthermore, the Commissioner General noted that 50,000 invigilators have been employed for examination purposes.
A telephone short code has been introduced to report any queries relating to the examinations.Thereby, complaints can been made to: 1911 or the police headquarters at 011-22 4211 11.
A fax number has been introduced to report confidential information through the number: 011- 28 852 20.Any complaints regarding the examinations can be made to the nearest police stations as well.
Around 15,000 Police officers have been employed to provide security for the examination centres.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Sri Lanka Transport Board, Ramal Siriwardena, said the students who were expecting to travel by train, could use the train tickets to travel by CTB or private buses, today.
