COPE chairman calls for disciplinary action against members who contacted Aloysius

“Disciplinary actions should be taken against the members of the  committee who communicated to Arjun Aloysius during the COPE committee investigation into the controversial central bank bond transaction,” said the Chairman of the COPE committee, Sunil Hadunnetti.

It was revealed at the bond commission hearing yesterday that Minister Sujeewa Senasinghe, who was a member of the COPE committee had communicated with Arjun Aloysisus 62 times over the phone between June and October of 2016, when the COPE committee investigation was taking place into the bond transaction.

Phone records reveal that 23 phone calls were made between Arjun Aloysius and cope committee member MP Hector Appuhami.

Furthermore, a revelation was made at the proceeding yesterday, Nov 16, that a number of other members of the cope committee were also revealed to have been in contact with Arjun Aloysius.
