Another suspect has surrendered to the Criminal Investigation Department in connection with the theft at Taiwan’s Far Eastern Bank. Police said that he had surrendered last night.

The suspect is a resident of Rajagiriya. The Fort Magistrate ordered that Chairman of Litro Gas Lanka Ltd., Shalila Moonesinghe, who was arrested over an alleged fraud of USD 1.1 million from the Taiwanese bank, and J.C. Nammuni, be remanded until October 25.

Moonesinghe is a British citizen. The CID informed court that his Sri Lankan visa will end in December. J.C. Nammuni is also a dual citizen of Sri Lanka and Britain.
