MP Namal Rajapaksa and seven others have been granted bail.They were remanded for protesting while violating a court order on October 11, after being arrested the day before.
The protest which led to the arrest was staged on October 6, against the sale of Mattala International Airport to India.
Counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents requested court to grant leave for MP Namal Rajapaksa, MP D.V. Chanaka and Sampath Athukorala to attend the World Festival for Youth in Russia.
Taking all factors into consideration, bail was granted to them and five others.The suspects were ordered to produce two sureties of Rs. 500,000 each.
The other 32 suspects were remanded once again till October 30, 2017.
