New SLFP Electoral Organisers have been appointed for the Matugama and Nawalapitiya areas.

The new appointments came in the wake of former organisers Kumara Welgama and Mahindananda Aluthgamage being forced to step down.

General Secretary of the UPFA, Minister Mahinda Amaraweera noted that former Minister Priyangani Abeydeera has been appointed  new Electoral Organiser for Mathugama while Central Provincial Councilor, H. A. Ranasinghe, has been appointed SLFP Organiser for Nawalapitiya.

The new organisers accepted their letters of appointment from President Maithripala Sirisena on Thursday night.

Meanwhile, former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga has been appointed as the SLFP Organiser for Attanagalla.

This move was announced by the Chairman of the SLFP Youth Front, Shantha Bandara, at a media briefing in Colombo.
