Geologists warn of a possible collapse of the garbage dump in Gohagoda, Kandy.

Professor of Geology at the University of Peradeniya Athula Senaratne said, the collapse of this garbage dump would result in a number of environmental issues.

He added that about 100 tonnes of garbage is being dumped at the location from the Kandy town, and surrounding areas.

He added that the garbage dump is situated on a slope.
