Police say thirteen people were injured in an accident involving a mini lorry in Welithara, Balapitiya. It is learnt that the lorry collided onto a tree.

The injured were admitted to the Balapitiya Hospital following which a woman and two children were transferred to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital.

Police investigations revealed that the cause of the accident was the driver falling asleep at the wheel.
