Permit of agency to suspended over death of SL pilgrims in India

The Ministry of Buddha Sasana says that the permit of the agency which organised the pilgrimage to Bodh Gaya,  where three Sri Lankans died during the pilgrimage in India, will be temporarily suspended.

Additional Secretary of the Ministry, Nandani Kannangara said that a special investigation will also be conducted into this incident.

She added that statements are set to be recorded from the relatives of the deceased, and the officials of the agency.

Kannangara further noted that a report compiled by the Sri Lankan High Commission to India is also scheduled to be presented to the Ministry.
