Former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran provided a statement to detectives assisting the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into Bond Issuances, for close to eight hours today, March 13.
The former Central Bank Governor arrived at the premises of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry on the morning of March 13.
He had provided a statement to detectives who are assisting the Commission.
The News1st reporter at the premises noted that Mahendran was secluded with the detectives for close to eight hours.
Meanwhile, former Superintendent of the CBSL’s Public Debt Department Dhammika Nanayakkara, testified before the Commission today, March 13.
He was questioned extensively on the procedure followed on issuing gazettes pertaining to bond issuances during his tenure. Nanayakkara is to testify before the Commission on Tuesday as well.
