A press conference was held on Wednesday evening on the exhibition Japan Expo Premier Sri Lanka 2017.

MTV/ MBC is the media sponsor for the event.

Japan-Sri Lanka Expo 2017, a three-day exhibition showcasing the culture of Japan, is set to begin at the BMICH from February  3 – 5.

Chairperson of the Japan Expo Premier Committee Michiyo Furusuwa, speaking during the press conference said that
Sri Lanka and Japan have plenty of similarities and “will help Sri Lankans come to know about Japan better.”

Group Director of the Electronic Media Business at TCMOL Nedra Weerasinghe said that she believes that this will give the opportunity to our Sri Lankans to experience the rich cultural heritage of Japan “under one roof.”

The press conference also saw performances by Sumo wrestlers and dance troops, who will also be performing at the main event.
