The non-academic staff of the University of Peradeniya has commenced a protest against an alleged assault carried out on two staff members of the University Health Centre.

The non-academic staff of the university, charge that the assault has been carried out by university students on the evening of Wednesday, January 25.

However, the non-academic staff, called off their protest when the vice chancellor of the university gave an assurance that the matter will be considered under the civil law.
