An event to celebrate the 118th birthday of the founder of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) the late Prime Minister S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike was held at Galle Face on Sunday morning.

The head of state President Maithripala Sirisena and Former President Chandrika Bandaranaike paid floral tributes to the statue of Late Prime Minister S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike at Galle Face.

A number of ministers and members of the SLFP were present at the event. The oration was delivered by Chief Judicial Sangha Nayaka of the North Central Province, Venerable Galdola Piyananda Thera.
