The Colombo Magistrate’s Court ordered the Criminal Investigations Department to submit 26 skeletal remains it found at the SAITM private medical university in Malabe, to GeneTech for DNA testing.
This order was given when the case pertaining to the murder of rugger player Wasim Thajudeen was taken up before Colombo Additional Magistrate, Nishantha Peiris on Wednesday.
On October 3, the CID inspected the SAITM private medical university in Malabe, and seized 19 skeletal remains of the thigh, and seven skeletal remains of the chest found at the premises.
Meanwhile, former senior DIG of Police, Anura Senanayake and Police Inspector Sumith Perera who are charged for allegedly concealing information pertaining to the case, were further remanded until October 19.
