The Pugoda Magistrate’s Court issued notices on former minister Basil Rajapaksa on Tuesday, to appear before Court on October 7.
The notices were issued when the case pertaining to the Former Minister over alleged misuse of state funds and the subsequent construction of a house on a 16 acre land in Malwana, was taken up today.
The case was examined by Pugoda Chief Magistrate D.K. Ruwan Pathirana.
Senior Deputy Solicitor General Thusith Mudalige requested Court to issue an order compelling the former minister to deposit in court the monies obtained through the sale of the said property.
However, lawyers appearing on behalf of Rajapaksa objected to the request.
