Sri Lanka, Singapore sign MoU for mutual cooperation in ‘investigations’

Sri Lanka and Singapore have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in order to share details pertaining to “Suspicious Financial Transactions” and “Terrorist Financing”.

The Financial Intelligence Unit of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka entered into this MoU with the Suspicious Transaction Reporting Office of Singapore. The move is expected to help facilitate the exchange of information related to investigations and prosecutions of money laundering and terrorist financing for mutual interest within the framework of each authority’s national legislation.

The Central Bank stated that the agreement was reached on September 1, 2016.
