Court on Thursday rejected the anticipatory bail application filed by Professor Ananda Samarasekara, former Chief Judicial Medical Officer in Colombo, who sought an order preventing his arrest over the disappearance of body parts of murdered rugby player Wasim Thajudeen.

Colombo Additional Magistrate Dulani Amarasinghe, who heard the petition, noted that this was a serious incident.

Rejecting the anticipatory bail application, the Additional Magistrate noted that this matter could not be valued in monetary terms and that there is room for an investigation to be conducted once again.
