The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment says that they will make it compulsory that the minimum salary earned by an employee going overseas for employment, be 300 US dollars.
Director of the Foreign Employment Bureau, Upul Deshapriya said that the new rule will come into effect from January 2017.
Meanwhile, Dissanayake says that the Employee Welfare fund has paid Rs.16.7 million as compensation to 110 individuals who suffered various grievances while being employed overseas.
