United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon arrived in Sri Lanka for a three-day official visit a short while ago.
During his visit Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will meet President Maithripala Sirisena, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and several other key government figures.
He will then call on the President on September 1.
The Secretary General will travel to Galle on Thursday, September 1, where he will participate in an event under the theme Reconciliation and Coexistence: Role of Youth.
On September 2,, the Secretary-General will travel to Jaffna, where he will meet the Governor of the Northern Province Reginald Cooray, Leader of the Opposition R. Sampanthan and members of the TNA, and is due to visit a resettlement site.
During the visit, the Secretary General will also meet with several Cabinet Ministers including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mangala Samaraweera, Speaker Karu Jayasuriya, political party leaders and civil society representatives.
