Most of the 67 medal winners of Team GB flew back to London on Tuesday (August 23) on a specially chartered aircraft.
They were led out by gymnast Max Whitlock, who won two gold medals in pommel horse and floor exercises plus a bronze in the all-around, and boxer Nicola Adams, who successfully defended her flyweight title, first won at London 2012.
Great Britain and Northern Ireland finished second in the medals table, behind the United States but ahead of China.
Next month there will be formal parades and celebrations for the athletes in Manchester and in London.
