The Sri Lankan contingent that will take part in the 2016 Olympics in Rio De Jinero Brazil, commenced their journey to the south American nation.

The nine-member team headed by Anuradha Indrajith Cooray left the national Olympic committee office a short while ago.

Athletes: Niluka Rajesekara, Sumedha Ranasinghe, Swimmers; Mathew Abeyasinghe and Kimiko Raheem, Weight lifter; Sudesh Peris, Shuttler; Niluka Karunarathne, Sharp shooter; Mangala Samarakoon. and Judoka; Nuwan Dharmawardena will represent Sri Lanka at the Rio Olympics.
