A fire broke out at a post office located down Olcott Mawatha in Pettah on Thursday afternoon.According to the police the post office suffered extensive damages due to the fire.

The Colombo Fire Service Department noted that the fire was contained and five fire engines were dispatched to the location.

According to the police, shops located on either side of the post office also sustained damages as a result of the fire .
