Former minister Basil Rajapaksa who was transferred from remand custody to the Colombo National Hospital is continuing to receive treatment.
Basil Rajapaksa who was placed under remand custody over the purchase of aluminum rods with the use of funds allocated for the Divineguma project, continues to receive treatment at the Colombo National hospital under the supervision of the prison’s doctors.
Meanwhile, a case pertaining to former minister Basil Rajapaksa at the Matara Magistrate’s Court was taken up on Wednesday before Chief Magistrate of Matara, Uresha De Silva.
As Basil Rajapaksa is currently in remand custody the lawyers informed court that he will not be able to appear for the case.
The magistrate instructed the bail bondsmen and the attorneys appearing on behalf of Basil Rajapaksa that their client must be present in court for the next hearing.
The case is due to be taken up on November 30.
