The hearing of the case filed against thirteen defendants including former parliamentarian Duminda Silva over the murder of four persons including the late Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra, concluded on Thursday, July 14.
The case was taken up before a three-judge bench comprising of Justices Shiran Gunaratne, Padmini N. Ranawaka and N.C.B.C Morais, at the Colombo High Court.
The High Court bench said that the verdict of this case will be delivered on September 8.
Duminda Silva, who is one of the defendants sought permission from court to travel overseas for medical treatment.
However, the bench of justices turned down the request citing that special reasons had not been put forward in this regard.
The bench also announced that as the verdict will be announced on September 8 written submissions can be made on behalf of all the defendants and the defence.
