Over fifteen injured in Thambuttegama crash

Eighteen individuals sustained injuries following an accident that took place in the Thispanepura area along the Galnewa  -Thambuttegama road when a lorry crashed into a tree.

According to the police, the accident had taken place on Saturday night. Among the injured are six children and nine women.

While the injured have been admitted to the Thambuttegama Hospital, three children who were in critical condition were transferred to the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital for further treatment.

Meanwhile, nine people were injured following an accident that took place in close proximity to the 19th km post along the Southern Expressway. It is learnt that the cause of the accident has been due to the driver of the van falling asleep behind the wheel.

Police state that the injured are currently receiving treatment at the Nagoda Hospital in Kalutara.
