Minister of Megapolis and Western Development Patali Champika Ranawaka, speaking in Colombo on Thursday, expressed views on Brexit.
The minister said:
This will have a direct impact on county’s export, tourist arrival from Europe and the funds of the migrants who arrived in Sri Lanka across Europe, which is 1.7 billion dollars per year.
He added that this took place at a time when the government was turning towards the European market to ease the country’s debt – and as the interest rates in Europe have risen, the country will find no concessions there.
The minister concluded by stating that the country must turn the focus towards migrants and the middle class in the country.
