In a communique issued on Monday June 20, the Sri Lanka Army Headquarters states that two preliminary courts have been established to locate the documentation believed to have been misplaced during investigations into the killings of Journalists Lasantha Wickrematunga and Prageeth Eknaligoda.
The Army Commander has instructed Special Investigations Unit to look for the documents that are needed for the investigations of the murders.He further noted that the reports of the preliminary courts will be handed over to the courts and the Criminal Investigations Department.
Adding that the Army is dedicated to uphold justice in the country, the Army highlighted that any member of the army who has been directly or indirectly connected to concealing evidence, will be brought before court, regardless of their status.
