The Afghan Taliban has announced that a new leader will take the place of the recently killed Mullah Akhtar Mansour.

Mullah Akhtar Mansour was killed in a US drone strike and In a statement, the Taliban acknowledged Mansour’s death for the first time and named his successor as Mawlawi Haibatullah Akhundzada. Foreign Media also states the Taliban spokesman as saying that Sirajuddin Haqqani and Mullah Yaqoob have been appointed as new deputy leaders
