UN commends TCMOL for relief operations in light of inclement weather conditions

The United Nations in Colombo commended The Capital Maharaja Organization Limited (TCMOL) for launching relief operations in light of the present inclement weather conditions.

Una McCauley, the Resident Coordinator for UN Sri Lanka made these remarks exclusively to News1st ahead of the World Humanitarian Summit due in Istanbul, Turkey next week.

Resident Coordinator for UN Sri Lanka, Una McCauley stated that its heart warming to witness private, public sectors, NGO’s working together to coordinate relief for the people benefacted by the floods which is what the World Humanitarian summit has been planning to bring people together, act together.

Therefore it is important that everybody in the region is heard since it is a small recurring crisis and humanitarian action is needed to tackle it.
