The Bradby Shield Encounter – commonly known as “The Bradby” – is the blue ribbon of Sri Lanka’s school rugby played between Royal College, Colombo and Trinity College, Kandy.
The 72nd Bradby ended in a draw today.
Royal College, Colombo was led in to the second leg of the 72nd edition of the Bradby by Nikhila Gunadheera while Rahul Karunathilake led the lads from Kandy in to the match.
Royal College, Colombo led the game in the early stages closing the first hald 10 – 5.
However, the tables turned in the second half with Trinity College scoring 13 points to go up 13 – 10.
In the dying minutes of the game Royal College converted a penalty to bring down the gap 13 – `18. However, it was Trinity College Kandy who won the second leg of the 72nd Bradby encounter.
Royal College, Colombo won the first lef 22 – 17 on the 30th of last month and following the conclusion of the second led, both teams were equal with 35 points each
Royal College, Colombo were the Champions in the previous year.
