The National Water Supply and Drainage Board says that, compared with the past few months, water usage at present, had dropped by 12%.

Chairman of the Water Board, Alahudeen Anzar said that the end of the festive season, as well as the slight drop in the high temperatures were the causes for this situation.

Anzar said that the usual daily usage of water in the country was 1.2 million tons. He stated that however in the past few months, 240 000 more tons of water was used on a daily basis.
