The Sri Lanka Transport Board says that a total of 3500 buses have been taken by different parties to transport those taking part in the May Day rallies.
Deputy General Manager, Raja Gunatilleke said that these buses were released after a certain amount was paid. He said that the Board had received Rs.42 million.
The Deputy General Manager said that the regular passenger buses used on other days dropped by 70% today.
