The University Grants Commission has decided to have an intake of 27,600 students to the universities this year.

Chairman of the Grants Commission, Prof. Mohan de Silva stated to News1st that the number of students recruited last year was around 25,200.

The students will be recruited for 15 universities and 18 higher education institutes.

The University Grants Commission also stated that the ventured manual containing all details of the university intake process will be available for purchase from April 24.

The chairman added that the initial details of the process were made public through newspapers and that the university ventured manual has been simplified this year.
