Police states that steps have been taken not to release the licences of individuals driving under the influence of alcohol.
DIG for Traffic Amarasiri Senarathne said that previously, a temporary licence was issued in place of the driver’s licence, for those apprehended for driving under the influence of alcohol.
He added that it was decided not to do so starting from Monday, April 11. Thereby, police urge the public not to drive under the influence of alcohol.
