Richard Clayderman, one of the more popular pianists and best selling record artiste in the 80s era is set to perform at the Nelum Pokuna on April 8.

News 1st caught up with an exclusive with this maestro ahead of this much anticipated performance.

His record sale numbers at approximately 150 million, and has achieved 267 gold and 70 platinum albums to his credit. He is popular in Asia and has been noted by the Guinness Book of World Records as “the most successful pianist in the world”.

When questioned by our fellow journalist Joel Outschoorn on the advice he would give for the upcoming generation, Richard Clayderman noted that he or she should “love your instrument and also work hard with passion in order to study the instrument really well.” Ahead of his performance Clayderman said that he was excited to be performing in Sri Lanka amid much welcome.
