Minister Mahinda Amaraweera commented on local government representatives who had breached the party discipline. He noted that they have decided to expel them from the party and stated that even though they raise their voice they will see no return.

The Sri Lanka Freedom Party Central Working Committee which convened under the auspices of President Maithripala Sirisena on Monday evening had decided to have its May Day Rally at the Samanala Grounds in Galle.

Minister Mahinda Amaraweera noted that the May Day rally will take place in Galle, along with the committee that comprises of Kumara Welgama, Mahindananda Aluthgamage and Pavithra Wanniarachchi.

Explaining further, he noted that all those who represent the United People’s Freedom Alliance, and those who don’t, want to join them for the rally.

Accordingly, the President had called all party electorate organisers on Tuesday to discuss the May Day-related matters.

Deputy Speaker, Thilanga Sumathipala noted that they have no issue with the Joint Opposition, as they move forward with the SLFP led by the UPFA.

General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, Minister Duminda Dissanayake stated politicians who have been elected as public representatives must be completely aware of the SLFP constitution.
