Speaking in Anuradhapura on Sunday, former president Mahinda Rajapaksa said that more attention should be paid to national security.
The former president attended a religious ceremony at the Sri Sambuddha Themagul Viharaya in Wilachchi Yaya, after which he addressed the gathering.
Former president Mahinda Rajapaksa stated that from day one, the government was told to give top priority to national security and keep the public informed. He further added that a programme to ensure the country’s national security must be implemented.
“Now, there are officials from the Intelligence unit. They follow me whereever I go”, charged the former president who pointed out that rather than following the former president, they should follow the tigers.
