Court grants permission to retain four Maldivian nationals

Court granted permission to retain and question four Maldivian nationals who were arrested in connection to a drug racket.

The Police Media Unit stated that permission was obtained from courts to retain seven such suspects connected to the  incident. Three individuals, including the main suspect of the racket, have also been arrested and are due to be produced before courts for detention orders to be obtained against them.

A number of suspects in an alleged drug racket were apprehended following the arrest of a Maldivian couple with three kilogrammes and 244 grammes of Heroin in their possession at the Katunayake International Airport.
