Three individuals, including two foreigners, have been arrested for the possession of butterfly cells and a variety of plants, indigenous to this country.

The arrest was made after the van they were travelling in, along the Southern Expressway, was inspected, following a tip-off received by the Kaduwela Police.

Police seized 21 varieties of chemicals that were in their possession. The suspects were handed over to the Nawagamuwa Police for further interrogation. They are scheduled to be produced before the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court.
