The Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy says that a report compiled by the Japanese team of experts who arrived in the country to inspect the transformers which were damaged in a fire, will be handed over within two days.
Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said that the Japanese experts conducted an investigation on the matter.
The Minister added that a team of German experts will arrive in the country on Monday, to inspect the transformer that exploded.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Power and Renewable Energy Ajith P. Perera said that while the sub-committee appointed by the President to compile a report on the sudden countrywide power outages has convened on three occasions. The final reviewing process will be carried out Monday afternoon.
The deputy minister added that repairs on the Biyagama transformer which exploded has now reached its final stages.
