Potato prices will increase following a hike in taxes imposed on imports. But for now the Pettah Wholesale Association said the tax would not be imposed on stocks that have already been imported.

Chairman of the association, Palaniyandi Sundaram, said that at present, one kilogramme of potato is being sold at Rs. 80.
