Five tonnes of imported rice which was deemed unfit for consumption, was seized in Nuge Road, Peliyagoda.

The raid was conducted by the Gampaha Consumer affairs Authority following a tip-off.

Our correspondent said that a person who was arrested in connection with the incident was released on a bond.
