President Maithripala Sirisena says that it is the hope of Sri Lanka to maintain a long term friendly relationship with Austria.

He added that Sri Lanka and Austria had enjoyed friendly diplomatic ties for over 60 years, and that the bi-lateral relations between the countries had further strengthened following his discussions with the Austrian President.

The Sri Lankan Head of State expressed these views while speaking at a press briefing held at the Hofburg Palace in Austria.
